Category Legal Matters
Drafting of opinions, conducting of legal research and providing general advice on a range of ancillary legal matters affecting the Group (e.g. deceased estate, company law, insolvency, company secretariat, risk & compliance, labour, etc).

Identifying legally compliant solutions for achieving business objectives taking into account cost, risk and commercial consequences
Litigation and Dispute Management
Management of both internal matters and outsourced/external attorneys with regards civil litigation;
Management of legal costs;
Accounting to business partners on agreed intervals.
Commercial and Contract Law
Negotiating, structuring, drafting and commenting on a wide variety of commercial agreements for clients and various external service providers / contractors for HR, Supply Chain, IT, Corporate Services, as and when instructed by local business or Legal Head.
Resolve issues and provide advice in relation to contracts where necessary.
Maintain electronic and physical Contracts Register in relation to signed contracts.
Monitoring South African Legislation
Monitor changes in legislation and keeping the business updated of relevant changes.
Company Secretarial Matters - Statutory Forms & Global Database
Ad Hoc Incidental Matters
Assist the Legal Head with ad hoc legal matters & Projects such as Competition Law issues, Corporate Governance, General Legal Opinions, Law Research, disciplinary hearings, sitting on various committees as an ex officio member, management & general employee training requirements within the legal sphere and similar other duties.
Assist with database of information to be shared globally.
