Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) is a leader amongst India's Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies, with a turnover of more than 1.3 billion USD and growing at 30% + CAGR. Our international operations contribute to approx. 45% of this revenue.

Our International operations offer a wide diversity of scale (10 Mio USD to 200 Mio USD), markets (10% to 80% organized retail), management (fully owned to joint ventures) and cultures (South East Asia, Sub Sahara Africa, UK and LATAM), leading to consequent diversity of business models.

Africa: Rapidol, a strong player in hair color brands was acquired in September 2006 gave an opportunity to enhance its global presence through the Modern Trade Network. Kinky, leading player in dry hair was acquired in April 2008. Tura, one of Nigeria's leading beauty companies was acquired in June 2010. In June 2011, GCPL acquired a majority stake in pan-African leading hair care company ‘Darling Group Holdings’ that operates in 14 countries across sub-Saharan Africa. Frika Hair was acquired in March 2015, which enjoys premium positioning in the South African hair market since 1998.

Asia: In May 2010, we acquired an Indonesia-based Megasari group operating in a range of household products. GGME established in Sharjah ensures distribution in the Middle East. We also have operations in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Europe: Keyline Brands (now Godrej UK) was acquired by GCPL in October 2005 operating in the toiletries and personal care sector.

South America: Argentina based Issue Group and Argenocs in May and June 2010 (now integrated as Godrej Argentina), has helped GCPL make significant inroads into the hair colors markets of Latin America. In 2012, GCPL acquired 60% stake in Cosmetica Nacional, a market leading hair colors and Cosmetics Company in Chile.

Duties & Responsibilities

Internship Duration - 3 - 6 months


  • Highly organized, highly detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment;
  • Must have experience in handling confidential information preferred;
  • Must be eager to learn in an ever changing work environment;
  • Must be solution orientated;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Must have excellent problem solving abilities;
  • Must be confident to speak to different stakeholders;
  • Need to know how to work on Microsoft office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point);

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand compliances for the business and assist in analysis and development of compliance programs;
  • Conduct legal research and critically analyze information for purposes of supporting business in driving solutions to legal challenges;
  • Assist in responding to information requests from customers;
  • Assist with regularly updating the Intellectual Property Portal in respect of all company trademarks;
  • Assisting with legal report on counterfeit matters in respect to Company brands and providing support in terms of counterfeit and trademark infringement strategies;
  • Assist with other legal projects as needed; and gain exposure to cutting-edge legal issues;
  • Opportunity to assist in the drafting and review of commercial agreements with vendors and customers;
  • Review commercial agreements;
  • Collaborate with other team members on various projects as needed;
  • Assist with the updating of contract repository and monitoring of contract which are due to expire and must be renewed
  • Give support in building programs for the effective record keeping of all contracts and other legal docucuments across the business;
  • Assist in record keeping of all corporate and ad-hoc documents and creating an efficient system to keep track of all company documents that legal is responsible for.

Requirements :

  • Currently a law student / completed studies
  • Ability to intern full-time
